Salon LargeSammy Oliver opened up her own five-star salon in downtown San Francisco and ran it for seven years. The business was featured in several fashion magazines, and named one of Americas Top 100 Salons by Elle Magazine.

As an independent salon owner in the highly competitive San Francisco market, Sammy set up a space as functional and visually pleasing for both clients and employees. She knows how to keep the inspiration flowing, how to stay motivated and focused, but above all she has a vast experience in and an instinctual talent for business – how to market yourself and your salon, create a cohesive brand, and build a solid client base through the advantages of social media. Her experience and knowledge as a successful salon owner is now paid forward as she takes on new projects, supporting and educating other hairstyle professionals and salon owners in their quest to develop their brands and take their businesses and careers to the next level.

Growing up in Los Angeles, Sammy has always been intrigued by the glamour of Hollywood, the Sunset Strip music scene, and life at the beach. She is passionate and intuitive about hair, drawing inspiration from old movies, art, interior design, photography, rummage sales, and the simple beauty of nature.

Sammy started her career by training with Sebastian International Artists, and she now has broad experience and deep knowledge of the trade, which she sharpened while working for prestigious salons in Beverly Hills and San Francisco.

She is known for collaborating with clients to find their perfect hairstyle – creating edgy looks with chic, easy-to-maintain cuts, and color that shines. She continues to expand her repertoire through professional programs with companies like Vidal Sassoon, L’oreal, Arrojo, R+Co (Luxury Brand Partners), and her relationships with other industry professionals.

Her career has allowed her to meet and work together with some of the most talented industry icons, as well as refreshing up-and-comers. Driven by the process of learning and growing as a stylist while perfecting her craft, she finds her passion in the business behind the chair and what makes a sustainable salon.
